School Bus Operational to Be Stopped

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama ensures not to remove school bus in the near future. Concerning a number of Transjakarta, Kopami, Kopaja and Metromini bus is currently inadequate. In addition, there are many schools location that have no Transjakarta access.

According to him, besides adding Transjakarta fleet, his side will also rejuvenate public transportation such as Kopami, Kopaja and metromini and fix public transportation system by using rupiah per kilometer system.
“We'll surely stop school bus operation after Transjakarta fleet is adequate,” he said at City Hall, Wednesday (8/5).
School Bus Still Enthused by StudentsBesides, Ahok now is creating such free charge system which addressed to students who wants to grab Transjakarta. The initial stage of the plan will be implemented for Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) holder.
“School bus indeed was intended to students, we have not yet removing it because there are some schools are not crossed by Transjakarta bus,” he added.
On the other hand, the existing school bus will be granted to civil servants transportation as well as for PKK cadres transportation. So far, there are 114 buses operated out of 174 units.
With details, 45 units of small buses and 69 units of large buses. The remaining 60 buses are not functioning. There are 23 seats capacities for large bus, while the small is 19 seats bus.
Currently, the operational schedule of school bus are starting at 5 AM until 7 AM, 11 AM until 2 PM, and 4.30 PM until 6 PM.
